Responsibilities:•Manage 8-10 projects (lighting component only) from SD - CA phases (i.e. thru project completion and final lighting setup).•Leading an internal team of up to 3-4 people: project manager (yourself), senior lighting designer, junior lighting designer / production assistant, and intern. Working closely with our in-house team to produce documentation; the project manager will be responsible for some drawing production (RCPs, lighting details, etc).•Manage day-to-day communication and information exchange with the client and the design team.•Attend meetings with the client/owner/architect/other consultants, review mockups, provide on-site construction management and aiming/focusing for project openings worldwide (may require occasional short term travel 2-5 days at a time to Asia / Europe on occasional basis)•Review and redline construction documents issued by the design team for compliance with L’Observatoire’s lighting design.
Qualifications:•Excellent knowledge of and experience with all phases (SD through CA) of the architectural process.•Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus but not required.•Proficiency in Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office•Sensitivity and appreciation for design aesthetics (of all kinds)•English fluency required. French or Chinese (Mandarin) language ability a plus.•Strong analytical skills, an attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve and make decisions based on changing conditions.•The ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of design (some with aggressive timelines).•Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Diplomacy is crucial.•Excellent organizational skills including: prioritization, scheduling, time management, and team coordination.•The ability to interact with all levels of a project team, from client senior management to design team to contractor.
