Lead and facilitate the implementation of global and site specific quality initiatives and their continual improvement. Responsible for the day-to-day site quality engineering activities including material disposition, internal/external concern management, APQP / FMEA / PPAP activities, metrology management, etc. Lead, coach, and facilitate problem solving, analysis of data and continual improvement activities.
Identify, analyze, and provide solutions for quality related problems and opportunities.
Technical quality liaison between the customer and site manufacturing process.
Responsible for customer concern management and corrective action request process.
Responsible for and/or participate in material review board activities.
Represent quality assurance team in Advanced Product Quality Planning process and control plan development.
Facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Sign-off (PSO) and other customer specific requirements.
Participate in establishing yearly Quality Key measurable targets. Develop Improvement plans and develop objectives to achieve those goals.
Participate in customer and internal requesting assurance team members.
Participate in the layered audit process and as an internal management systems auditor.
Formal qualifications required:
Degree, certification, or equivalent in an Engineering and/or Industrial/Manufacturing discipline.
2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
Experience in a process driven, high volume manufacturing facility (Tier 1 Automotive Supplier) preferred.
A statistical background and computer knowledge is required.
Must be able to effectively train others in quality methods and tools.
Metallurgical background a plus.
Soft Skills and Other Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative and organize multiple projects and establish priorities.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn and correctly use software programs.
Ability to train others using demonstration, written, and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of LEAN tools and Descriptive Statistics
Knowledge of problem solving tools and Core tools described in TS 16949
Knowledge in Quality & Environmental Systems such as TS 16949 & ISO 14001
