Technical Program Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of select HI technical committees as well as oversight, promotion and growth of 3 newly launched HI technical programs. The incumbent will assist HI in the development of technical standards, guidelines and educational materials for pumps and related equipment. The incumbent will also lead market acceptance for HI’s Pump Test Lab Approval Program, Energy Rating Label and Pump System Assessment Master Certification. To succeed in the position, the incumbent should have basic knowledge of the pump industry, relevant markets and governmental affairs. The position requires exceptional leadership, project and procedural management, marketing/sales, enthusiasm for technical learning and both written and verbal communication skills. Technical aptitude along with an understanding of pumps, applications and markets is beneficial.
The position requires travel to HI conferences for up to 7 consecutive days, three times a year and travel to industry events as needed to promote Technical Programs.
Essential Functions • Lead remote HI committees and teams of HI volunteers through the process of development of HI Technical Standards, guidebooks or educational products; Following the ANSI Process for Standard Development where appropriate • Grow HI Technical Programs: Pump Test Lab Approval Program, Energy Rating Label and Pump System Assessment Master Certification and others as they emerge. • Write whitepapers and articles, create and deliver presentations to promote HI Standards, guidebooks and other Technical Programs • Work with HI Marketing to track technical programs success and adjust marketing and promotional campaigns accordingly. • Manage projects and deliverables in accordance with approved budgets and timelines. • Assist with/or conduct special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by HI Executive or Technical Director.

Essential Job Requirements/Skills • Bachelor degree or equivalent with 5 years of related work experience including: • Strong project and time management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. • Proven record building, launching new products and/or managing projects. • Experience leading staff and volunteer teams and managing projects in a virtual environment • Aptitude for Technology and willingness to understand basic pump technologies, the pump industry, industrial applications and related regulations • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while maintaining focus on growth • Excellent Writing and presentation skills; comfort crafting white-papers to suit different industrial audiences and speaking at industry events. Must become a credible industry spokesperson for technical programs within 6 months. • Ability to tracking technical program success and performance and provide updates to the HI Board and Management • Proficient software skills and proven experience using Microsoft Office Operating Systems and Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Project Management tools. Familiarity of CRM tools such as Salesforce/Microsoft CRM a plus. • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and in a small business work environment.
