The School of Engineering came into existence on January 1, 2016 and comprises the previous schools of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering; and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The candidate for the position of Associate Professor is expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research efforts in Aerospace Engineering and Aviation discipline especially in Aviation science, including but not limited to aircraft and airline operations and support systems, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, airport and airline management. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the academic activities of the School and the College and to pursue a program of professional development consistent with the strategic goals of the School. The academic is expected to undertake high quality teaching, research and industry engagement in the designated field both nationally and internationally.
Skills & Experience Required
You will possess a proven record of academic and/or professional achievement in Aviation Science including topics related to aircraft and airline operations and support systems, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, airport and airline management. Your proven ability to undertake high quality research in the designated field resulting in high quality journal articles in recognized international journals together with your ability to prepare and win competitive research grants will be essential to your success in this role.
