SUMMARY: Working under administrative direction from VP, Quality Assurance helps direct and manage the division’s quality assurance/control program. Ensures that quality procedures and policies of the company are coordinated throughout the organization. Responsible for establishing testing policies and procedures needed to maintain a program that will meet the quality needs of the division. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops methods to check the quality of new products and improving the quality of existing products. Monitors procedures already in operation to maintain quality standards of existing products, as well as developing innovative programs to focus employees on improving product quality. Responsible for installing and supervising the inspection and testing procedures for finished products. Recommends corrective action necessary to insure conformity with quality specifications and standards. Coordinates division inspection and sampling techniques and quality control plans. Directs process control procedures that will insure production of finished products which meet quality specifications and standards. Confers with management, customers, and other representatives in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance program in conformance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and production schedules. Organizes research on product defects and recommends modifications in products or quality standards where warranted. Visits customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems. Oversees complaints received from customers for the purpose of determining where quality control emphasis should be placed in the division to eliminate problems. Provides technical assistance to division purchasing department in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies, and equipment. Ensures division compliance with government regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering of other technical discipline required. Master’s degree preferred. Ten (10) to twelve (12) years related experience required. ISO 9001: 2000 experience required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledgeable of state-of-art inspection and quality control techniques, procedures, instruments and equipment. Must have excellent supervisory/organizational skills as well as working knowledge of Microsoft office environment. Experience in hardware and software quality assurance with software development exposure. Team leader who can develop employee growth and willing to develop processes/templates for application to ensure product reliability and capability from design through production hand-off. Position may require occasional domestic as well as international travel.
