Itasca Consulting Group, Inc., (ICG), a company specializing in geo-engineering consulting and software development, is looking for a General Manager (GM).
ICG is located in downtown Minneapolis and is a member of Itasca International, Inc. (III) which has offices worldwide. With around 50 employees, ICG performs specialized consulting in mining, civil engineering, oil & gas, power generation and also hosts most of the software development activity of III. The office has a casual but professional small business working atmosphere.
The GM will work closely with staff from ICG and other III offices to identify, pursue, and execute local and international consulting and software development projects. The candidate should also be able to generate consulting work through his or her existing skills and networks. The ideal candidate is a high-level thinker with excellent communication, technical, and managerial skills.
The GM will be responsible for the smooth running and financial success of the office. This consists of fostering and maintaining communication between management and employees to ensure a productive workplace, as well as promoting collaboration. Other key responsibilities include overseeing the management and coordination of software and consulting work while ensuring efficient and effective operations.
The successful applicant for this position will have at least ten years of experience in engineering consulting and/or software development, and have good interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, he or she will be expected to work part time on consulting and/or software development while spending at least 50% of their time in Minneapolis covering GM's duties.
