The College of Computing at Dakota State University (http://www.dsu.edu) has available up to three Cybersecurity and/or Cyber Operations faculty positions at the Instructor (non-tenure-track), or the Assistant/Associate/Professor rank (tenure track) with a start date of Fall Semester, 2017. This recruitment effort supports DSU’s strategic emphasis and academic priorities that have produced robust growth in its security programs. These positions are housed in the College of Computing, the fastest growing college in the University with approximately 800 on-campus and online undergraduate students and 90 graduate students, with additional growth expected. The College provides majors in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, Network and Security Administration, and Computer Game Design (delivery shared with College of Arts and Sciences) as well as a D.Sc. in Cyber Security, and master’s degrees in Applied Computer Science and Information Assurance and Computer Security.
Candidates should have an interest in and understanding of Cyber Operations and/or Cybersecurity as well as practical teaching and/or research experience involving technical cyber security areas including systems security, reverse engineering/malware analysis, software exploitation, networking, network security, secure programming, cyber/physical security system, digital forensics, cloud security and other cyber operations topics. The successful candidate will be expected to play critical roles in advancing research as well as pursuing funding opportunities. Minimum qualifications for the positions depend upon the level of position being applied for. For all the positions, we expect appropriate academic and experiential preparation, previous classroom teaching experience (required for the senior ranks and strongly preferred for the assistant professor ranks), a track record in teaching, scholarship and service in the professorial ranks (for the junior ranks, potential for success in teaching, scholarship and service), technical aptitude and experience, a focus on students (undergraduate and graduate), and a preference for faculty with online teaching experience.
